Founder of Booka · Built the day camp program at Sparhawk Academy · Sebago Leadership Camp and Camp Tunkhannock alum
Joe C. has been part of two overnight camps, Sebago Leadership Camp and Camp Tunkhannock, since his days as a camper. He worked at both as a counselor in high school and has returned to Sebago in a range of roles in the years since. His work has ranged from writing handwritten letters to prospective families to training camp leaders to run an excellent camp.
More recently, Joe built the day camp program at Sparhawk Academy. He created the camps, marketed them to the local community, built the team, ran the programs week after week, and managed the P&L. He has done the job from top to bottom.
As the founder of Booka, Joe is working to improve the summer camp experience for everyone involved: parents, campers, camp operators, counselors, and the communities camps serve. Booka starts as a directory of New England summer camps, built on a simple idea. When parents can get to know a camp well, they choose it with confidence, and their kids get a summer where they grow and have fun.
