Camp Huckins is an ACA-accredited overnight camp for girls in grades 3 through 9, run by the Carroll County YMCA on more than 250 acres in Freedom. Campers attend two-week sessions with a lake waterfront that includes sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding and waterskiing, plus arts, dance and drama, mountain biking and a tech-free setting. Older campers can move into a Leadership Division with a W program and a Counselor in Training program.

2026 two-week session tuition uses a voluntary three-tier system: Tier 1 $2,890, Tier 2 $2,645, Tier 3 $2,130, plus a $200 non-refundable registration fee. The camp says families applying for financial assistance should register at Tier 3. Horseback riding, waterskiing and off-site hiking carry additional fees.

Staff
Staff complete a 50+ hour training program before camp, with department-specific training such as Water Safety Instructor for waterfront directors, American Red Cross lifeguard certification, US Archery instructor training and small craft boating training. The camp states it follows industry standard staff to camper ratios set with the state of NH and the ACA, and it holds Praesidium accreditation for abuse prevention.
Counselors
Former campers who have completed 10th grade can apply to be Counselors in Training, who learn to teach activities and rotate into camper cabins.
